Meet our partner eMetsring Vestfold

Elin Katrine Vestly

Forhelse have three eMestring-partners, and this week you will be able to read about eMestring Vestfold and their contribution to the centre.

eMestring Vestfold currently offers digital treatment programs for patients with depression, anxiety and panic disorder. In addition, they are in the process of trying out a digital treatment for people who struggle with overconsumption of alcohol.

We had a chat with Elin Katrine Vestly about their work in eMestring and why they wanted to be a apart of Forhelse.

What was your motivation behind joining the centre?

We have a desire to further develop digital health services as an offer at our treatment units. In this context, we think it is important to make contacts across companies and in areas such as subjects, management and research/evaluation. We see Forhelse as a useful partner in our further work.

eMestring Vestfold will participate in Work Packages 2 and 4. There they will, among other things, contribute with their experience of guided internet treatment that they have had as a treatment in Vestfold since 2014. In addition, they will share experiences about what responsibility they have had in implementing eMestring by all health trusts in Health South-East. Their contribution will mainly be related to data from the operation of DPS and interviews with key people in the project.

Which challanges do you envision in the project?

Right now we are working on challenges related to data sharing in the multicenter study. Together with the management in work package 2, we make assessments in relation to need for agreements and more. Cost-benefit is a complex calculation with many variables. It will be exciting to see results from this.

You can read more about work package 2 here.

Why is digitalization important in the health cector?

There is a need to utilize the resources we have in a knowledge-based, but at the same time efficient way. We see various health services delivered on digital platforms as an important contribution to making health services more accessible to most people. Digital healthcare, where applicable, also contributes to greater flexibility for both therapist and patient.

It also contributes to a democratization of treatment services due to the fact that the same treatment services and expertise are being offered in both cities and more rural areas.

What do you wish to achieve during the 8 years the centre will excist?

That’s a difficult question! We want to acquire more knowledge about cost-benefit and gain better competence and tools for implementation. We also believe that participation gives us opportunities for networking across health trusts and other partners. It will be useful in the work of developing digital healthcare services.
